It’s time for independent politicians

As a proud Australian-Jew with many links to Israel, I will be voting for all minor parties first. Then, I will hold my nose and vote for one of the two major parties just ahead of the Australian Greens. The Greens will be last on my ballot paper. I do not and will not follow any political party’s How to Vote advice!

It’s time for Independent and locally accountable national politicians. Neither Peter Dutton nor Albo are inspiring leaders; in fact, they are both underwhelming…

YES, I am well aware that if everyone voted as I will be doing, we are likely to elect a minority government.

For me, there are many salient issues to consider when selecting my national representative: not only cost of living issues and security–including the rise of antisemitism. Australia’s posturing on foreign policy–especially in relation to Israel’s and Gaza’s war and Ukraine’s and Russia’s war is inconsequential.

I am seeking some accountability from our Australian Government in relation to how we mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic during the past 5 years. I want to know what we have learned so that we don’t repeat the same mistakes with the next epidemic.
