Asher Stanton could sing before he could talk – but he’s never learnt to read music. The 21-year-old plays keyboard by ear, and the result is music that’s infectious.
Through his enterprise Technicolour Music, Asher regularly performs at aged care homes, childcare centres, and celebrations across Melbourne. It’s an endeavour that means as much to Asher as to those in the crowd.
In this special video story produced exclusively for TJI, Ruby Kraner-Tucci speaks with Asher, his parents Zoe and David, and support worker Rebecca, about the power of music to help Asher express and understand emotions – and the world around him.
