The much larger number of casualties in Gaza has meant there has been little focus on Israeli deaths and injuries death toll during the Israel-Hamas War.
But the war began with the Hamas attack causing the biggest Israeli death toll in a single day and more than that number again have been killed in rocket attacks or during fighting in the subsequent 15 months of fighting.
The October 7 toll
The final death toll from the Hamas attack which began the war was 1,163 people including 35 children, 326 women and 782 men. Among those killed were 67 foreign citizens and 357 security personnel.
Hamas has never released a list of the hostages abducted but it is believed 255 people were kidnapped on October 7, including 36 children under age 18. At least 73 hostages are known to have died in captivity and it is believed 98 were still in Gaza at the time of the ceasefire, though there has been no proof of life for many of them.
Israeli casualties since October 7
1,843 Israelis have been killed as a result of the fighting, including 1003 civilians and 840 IDF personnel. Most of the civilians died as a result of Hamas and Hezbollah attacks on Israel, including 12 Druze children who were killed when their soccer field was hit by a rocket in July last year. There was one death from the Iran missile attacks and two from Iraq missile attacks.
At least 27,000 rockets and missiles were fired into Israel, most from Gaza but others from Iraq, Yemen and Iran.
The injury count for Israelis as a result of the 15-month war stands at 23,785 injured.
During the war 143,000 Israelis were displaced, to protect them from attacks on both the Gaza and northern borders.
In the West Bank and Jerusalem
The war had a flow-on effect in the Occupied Territories. There were 6, 828 terror attacks on the West Bank while the War raised on the other side of Israel in Gaza. Israeli troops responded with regular military operations and arrests. There were also regular violent settler attacks on Palestinian villages.
In the West Bank, 56 Israelis were killed and another 406 injured during the war. At the some time 845 Palestinians were killed and another 6,000 arrested.
