Permits seen as attempt by Defence Minister Ya’alon to appease settler leaders after High Court ordered demolition of two illegal structures in settlement of Beit El.

Hagit Ofran, head of Peace Now’s Settlement Watch: “The Netanyahu government is the government of the settlers. … Approving the plans for those isolated settlements is a clear message that the government is not heading to peace but destroying the prospect of a two-state solution.”
