Auschwitz survivors tell Pope tales from the abyss – Times of Israel 29.07.16
In a deeply contemplative and private visit, Francis passed nearly two hours in total silence, except for a few words he exchanged with the survivors and rescuers. 11 former prisoners of the Nazi death camp and 25 Christian Polish rescuers of Jews told their harrowing stories.
