A 16-year-old Palestinian died of his wounds on Saturday after being shot by Israeli forces in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Coordination office
According to the report from the Palestinian Authority division, the teenager, Abdullah Muhammad Hamad, was arrested by the Israeli military after he was shot in the town of Silwad, north of Ramallah.
Silwad residents said that Hamad was evacuated from the site after the shooting to an unknown location; an announcement of his death was released on Saturday morning.
According to the Israeli military, dozens of Palestinians had gathered near Silwad on Friday night, and several of them had thrown stones at Route 60. Soldiers fired at one of them, and confirmed that one of the Palestinians was shot.
Last month, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that a 15-year-old Palestinian was shot during clashes with the Israeli military in the village of al-Khader, near Bethlehem.
According to the statement, village resident Zaid Muhammad Ghnaim was critically wounded by IDF live fire in the neck and back, and was declared dead shortly after.
The military said that a number of suspects hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli forces while they were securing an intersection near the settlement of Efrat, and that the soldiers chased after the assailants.
