Pita with Vegemite

Filmed six months after the October 7 attacks and during the subsequent war in Gaza, nine Israeli Australians reflect on the home they left behind, what they have lost and what they have gained.

  • Australia is considered a dream destination, albeit a faraway one, for many in Israel. Coming from diverse backgrounds, their stories are different and yet very much the same. Unique to Israelis and universal to immigrants. For those who moved from the opposite side of the globe, identity and culture are central to a long and sometimes challenging journey to call Melbourne, Sydney or Mullumbimby home.
  • Directed and produced by Sharon Offenberger, Shahar Burla and Mihaal Danzinger.
    Edited by Mihaal Danzinger.
    Additional editor: Marc Senter.
    Music by Shmoné.
