Be Fruitful
Fertility Journeys in Modern Jewish Lives

From the Editor
Jewish culture’s emphasis on continuity places pressure on those for whom parenthood does not come easily. Be Fruitful: Fertility Journeys in Modern Jewish Lives explores the complex, varied and sometimes taboo experiences of dealing with fertility in contemporary Jewish lives.
TJI’s assistant editor Ruby Kraner-Tucci has brought together wide-ranging perspectives, from first-person reflections by those with lived experience, to the insights of IVF technicians, advocates and rabbis.
Be Fruitful challenges the stigma many Jews feel as a result of walking a non-traditional path to parenthood, from kosher IVF, adoption and surrogacy to foster care, early pregnancy loss and a child-free life.
