Politicians, councillors, synagogue members, and multi-cultural community representatives gathered to hear Rami and Bassam’s message.

The Ark Centre hosted Rami and Bassam who shared their stories after Friday night’s evening services to representatives of multicultural groups across Victoria. This was followed by a beautiful dinner organised by Rabbi Gabi Kaltmann.

Bassam’s message of hope framed the conflict in a different light. “Israel hasn’t killed six million Palestinians. The Palestinians haven’t killed six million Israelis. Today there is an Israeli ambassador in Berlin and a German ambassador in Tel Aviv. We can do it.”

Their story aired on ABC News on Friday night. If you missed it you can watch it here, starting at 19 minutes and 58 seconds. It’s so great to see their message getting out to a broader audience.
