J Street to offer competing free trip to Israel for those fed up with Birthright (Haaretz)
In a direct challenge to Birthright, a leading progressive Jewish-American organisation is about to launch its own free 10-day trips to Israel.
J Street, the group sponsoring and financing the initiative, says the purpose is to provide young American Jews with a more balanced narrative of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — one that addresses the thorny issue of the occupation.

Birthright, in order to give participants exposure to the Israel-Palestinian conflict and those involved in it.
The first trip, which will last nine days, will take place this July and applications are being taken starting Thursday.
Criticism has been directed at Birthright by the far-Left IfNotNow organization which claims that Birthright does not address the conflict sufficiently and that when it does, it does so in an unbalanced manner.
