Four ‘Lion’s Den’ leaders surrender to Palestinian Authority in Nablus

The surrender follows an Israeli raid on Lion’s Den headquarters which killed five terrorists and destroyed a bomb lab.

Four senior members of the Lion’s Den organisation in Nablus surrendered on Wednesday evening to the Palestinian Authority, according to sources in the West Bank city.  

The militants, members of a loose affiliation of young Palestinian men, hope to reach an agreement with the PA over their activities. 

Lion’s Den is a secular and unorganised cell consisting primarily of young Palestinian men believed to be responsible for several recent attacks on Israelis. 

Israeli security officials believe that the group consists of people who had previously been members of other groupings and that a series of events led them to rebrand themselves as the Lion’s Den. 
Before the surrender, two Lion’s Den militants were arrested by Israeli authorities in Nablus. 

Earlier this week, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli security forces during a raid on Lion’s Den headquarters. 

During the three-hour-long joint IDF, Israel Police and Shin Bet operation, troops destroyed an explosive lab belonging to the group in the Old City of Nablus.  

Prime Minister Yair Lapid told Kan public radio on Tuesday that the gunmen killed in Nablus had been involved in the terror attack that killed Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch in early October.
