The absolute condemnation by the Labor Party of its own MK for his comments on the Hebron shooting raises difficult questions. Does the party still agree that 50 years of occupation and control over another nation, against its will, is the number one problem of the State of Israel? Does it oppose Netanyahu’s contention that there is no connection between terror by individuals and the ongoing occupation? A party that has Arab MKs must take into account their nationalist leanings and feelings just as it has allowed some freedom of expression to Orthodox MKs on questions of religion and state.
