Palestinian Authority tops UN tourism list, Israel ranked 10th

Israel and the Palestinian Authority were two of the places with the most dramatic rise in tourism in the first half of 2017, according to data from the UN World Tourism Organisation

PA registered a 58% increase in foreign tourists during first six months of the year (Haaretz)
The UK Telegraph attributes the jump to the opening of the Walled Off Hotel, started by the artist Banksy in Bethlehem. Israel’s tourism grew by 25%, edging into tenth place on the list (Aug 8)
