A masked soldier was recorded firing at Palestinians in Samaria, and the army opened an investigation (Mako/N12 News)

Military police are investigating a violent incident that took place during Operation Wall Guard in Samaria, during which a Palestinian was killed by gunfire.

In a video published by B'Tselem and published on the "Local Conversation" website, soldiers in the village of Urif near Yitzhar are seen standing next to a masked armed man, shirtless and wearing army trousers, who apparently also fired with his weapon.

Two weeks after the publication of the documentation, the army clarified: The masked man is an armed soldier, a resident of the settlement, who is not part of the force that operated in the sector.

We are deployed in the West Bank without truly understanding our role there, and if the Justice Ministry says IDF troops have the authority to arrest settlers, someone should tell the Israeli army this important information because its officers do not appear to know
